Rare 1860s Bettridge &Co. Birmingham Papier Mache Child's Chair 1864-1866 As Is

This is from my private collection. I always meant to restore this but never seemed to have the time. Very Rare 1860s labelled Bettridge & Co.

Papier Mache child's chair. Guaranteed a child's chair and Not a slipper chair or small full size chair. Succeeded Jennens & Bettridge & Co.

Victorian papier Mache chairs are pretty scarce and a child's chair is Rare (a labeled Bettridge child's chair is very rare). On the underside of chair is the original brass label stating Bettridge &Co. Fabulous form with cabriolet kegs.

Guaranteed 1860s and over 150 years old. The top of the chair was broken off at one time and reaffixed.

You can see close up pics of the back and the front of the damage near the top. There is losses of the Mother of Pearl where is was broken. The gold gilding is worn.

There are small losses of Mother of Pearl other than where it was broken. The chair is structurally sound. Nice rare display piece as is or could be fabulous with proper restoration.

Priced due to rarity even in condition it is in. Look at pics and ask questions as they are considered part of the description.

Measures about 30 1/2" tall at extremes and 13" wide at wifest. The seat height is 14 from floor.
