Antique Victorian Child's Wood Bentwood Faux Bamboo Painted Rocking Chair
From the attic of a Victorian mansion in Western New York, this charming antique wooden children's rocker has a wonderful old paint job, originally a red tone that has mellowed to a soft orange. It measures 23 1/2" tall x 14" wide x 20 long at the rockers. There is a colorful woven fabric on the seat and back, with some wear and a hole in the seat.
The frame is made of wood and some of the rails are carved with rings around them, for a loose interpretation of bamboo, with other bamboo lines lines painted on. Overall, this chair is in very good condition for its age--more than a hundred years old! With wear to the painted surfaces, but it is still sturdy. Please look at all the photos carefully--they are part of my description. The exception to this is a very large or complex object that may require building a box.
